We hide completed posts on our feedback board, as we suspect that most users aren’t concerned with features that the app already has—they came to the board to review and vote on (or submit) requests for new features.
Nevertheless, there is a missed opportunity here with regard to social proof and demonstrating community engagement: when a request is completed (especially a highly voted one), and it is removed from the board, that achievement is hidden from the user, and all they see is things we haven’t done.
To resolve this and better seize this opportunity, I propose the addition of some small widget at the top of the feedback board, which will showcase Completed Requests. This would be a 1 or 2-line section that could show some or all of the following content:
Recently completed requests
Pinned completed requests (i.e. a major or highly voted achievement)
# of completed requests (i.e. TimeFinder has fulfilled X requests since Y date)
While this feature may appear superfluous, this sort of value-driven enhancement could set Featurebase apart as not just a great feature portal app, but an unmatched platform for demonstrating and encouraging community engagement—a win-win for users and devs alike.
