We’re excited to announce a significant update that vastly enhances user privacy and security at Featurebase!
Identity verification blocks unauthorized individuals from impersonating others and accessing private information (i.e., author-only posts & other details you’ve sent about the user)
With this enabled, our system confirms a user's identity before granting access to sensitive information or actions. It checks for a valid, server-generated token to ensure the person is legitimate, blocking unauthorized attempts to view or post as someone else.
You can learn more about this from our What is Identity Verification? article and set it up by following the Set up Identity Verification guide.
We highly recommend enabling identity verification for your organization. Especially if you’re using features like Author-only postsor Author-only boards
We’ve greatly improved the ‘Hide author info’ feature by giving users a unique, anonymous name and profile picture.
With this turned on, all user communications will use random names, including email notifications for comment replies.
Admins still retain full access to user data in the portal and emails.
You can enable this from Settings → Feedback → Hide Author Info
