Allow Anonymous Upvoting in All-In-One Widget

We allowed for Anonymous upvoting in our Organisation, however, the functionality doesn't seem to be working in the All-In-One widget 😅

We're looking into whether there's a good way to make this work.

Currently, we have the following problem:

Our system relies on cookies to remember anonymous upvotes.

Cookies work great in first-party contexts (think visiting feedback.featurebase.app directly and upvoting from there).

But when our widgets are on your website, it's a different story. Browsers really don't like cookies in this situation because they're often used to track people across the internet. Even though we're not tracking anyone, our cookies still get blocked (Safari does this already, and Chrome might start soon).

What this essentially means is that we can't remember what someone did in our widget after they refresh the page. Each reload is essentially a brand-new user for our widget. This could be abused to upvote posts more than once, for example.

I'll check out some possible workarounds, but honestly, it might be tough to fix. Browsers have really cracked down on anything that looks like tracking.

If the place you display your widget in has users already logged in (like a dashboard), I would highly recommend setting up automatic authentication in the widgets: Authenticate Users with SSO in the All-In-One Widget

This not only solves the upvoting problem but also helps track which users are interested in which feature. Changing a post status will also then send email updates to those users: Status Change Emails
