Import and update users & companies via CSV

Import and maintain customer data in Featurebase without engineering help.

This should include:

• Import users and companies from CSV files (e.g. import exports from Excel, Google Sheets, and Airtable).

• Map columns to standard and custom attributes, such as names, emails, plans, and company details

• Create new records or update existing ones, matching by email or stable IDs to avoid duplicates

• Link users to the correct companies, including importing companies first and adding users later

• Apply user tags and create segments from imported attributes, user lists, or company ID lists

• Load customers before their first login so audience previews include them, without automatically sending invitations

• Import Updates subscribers and custom Outbound subscription memberships, preserving each person’s subscribed or unsubscribed state

• Choose which existing values to overwrite or keep, with clear handling of blank fields and later SDK/API updates

• Preview changes and validation errors before importing, then show which records were created, updated, skipped, or failed

• Support large imports and re-importing updated files
