Problem

Our company has users around the world. And not all users use browsers with built-in translator.

Solution

I suggest you make an autotranslation. It is possible to place this feature in the setting so that the admin can turn it on and turn off.

    Hey everyone,

    The auto-translation feature is live! Now, our system automatically detects if a post is not in your organization's default language and offers a translation button beneath the content.

    You can also enable native automatic translation in the settings (Feedback → Languages), which means every post will appear in the main feed and roadmap in the users’ chosen language.

    Let me know how it works for you all. This should help connect users around the world seamlessly! 🎉

    Sidenote: If content is already in your default language, there won't be a translation button.

    Also, this is currently for the post content only, we’re planning to launch comment translations in the future as well.

    As a prospective customer, I would highly value such a feature. Any business with a global userbase would highly benefit from it. Adding this feature would allow all users to participate to the same conversation, merging inputs across languages and preventing the creation of silos (ideas, comments, upvotes split between languages).

    We could use a specialized AI tool to automatically translate posts, comments (even the user interface) in the given user's target language.

    This way, users could discuss and share ideas in whichever language they prefer and have a unique, global conversation together, whether they speak English, Spanish, or Chinese.

    Same for us, our users are not all English fluent and prefer to have everything in their own native language.

    It could be perfect to have auto-translation like Google Reviews or Twitter/X for posts.

    And a mention that the feedback has been translated and you can see the original if needed.

    This kind of feature breaks the boundaries to internationalize a SaaS.

    ChatGBT could be used to do the job and the KI translations are often (not always) near perfect these days.

    We use internally the DeepL API to translate contents in our back office but it could be nice to have the same feature in Featurebase to translate changelogs, roadmaps, … in all entities.
