Manually Prioritize Cards on Roadmap by dragging

Prioritize roadmap kanban manually by dragging cards. This is critical to show people the order we work on stuff. Without this we can not activate the roadmap because customer get upset when things are not done in the proper order. Ideally just add another option to prioritization called “Manual” and when enabled I can drag the cards up and down like I do now but they will actually. Stay in position.

Hey, happy to announce that this is now finally live.

There is a new filter option in the roadmap view called “Manual order“:

This lets you manually drag posts around, and the order will persist.

If you want to make the roadmap behave like this by default, you can change the default “Order posts by“ setting from the roadmap settings to manual mode as well:

Absolutely need this as well, otherwise I can’t communicate to my users which order tickets are being worked on

    Is there any workaround?

      Hey @Tommy Giesbrecht,

The order of the posts is currently determined by the sorting options (Recent, Top Voted, etc..).

I am not sure when we'll get to adding this as we have not seen a general need for it yet.

I find it quite concerning that I have to rely on a separate project management system just to handle my Kanban boards. The process requires me to collect feature requests here, draft a roadmap for the public, and then use another platform to showcase my work. This situation arises because I’m unable to prioritize projects based on the order of voting. It's important to understand that the order in which features are voted for doesn’t always reflect their technical feasibility.

This limitation seems unreasonable. If implementing a voting system in that manner isn't possible, could you at least consider adding a custom tab that links to an external website? This solution would help us maintain a cohesive look while keeping our users informed.

Having this tab, we could just call “roadmap” and disable the roadmap feature of your product. It is such a waste doing this, but if you can all allow me to drag and drop the tasks up and down in the order they are being done, then this seems kind of pointless for the roadmap tool.

Ability to order items on the roadmap

Right now, posts in columns on the roadmap are ordered by votes. It would be nice to be able to override this and order them how we please.

In our use-case, we’d like to be able to order things by when they are due to be released.

Sorting by upvotes makes sense for me once I have upvotes, but when starting from zero I'd rather order items myself (rather than the current ‘last created card first’ approach.)

I use mainly featurebase to communicate on my roadmap with my stakeholder, clients and prospects.
And I am having a hard getting the right order for the items in my roadmap. Manual prioritization would be the best option.
As a fallback I tried to order it by due date. Unfortunately you have decided to display the oldest due date first. The reverse of what I want… Could we have an option to decide in which direction we want to order items in the roadmap ?

We would also benefit from this. As a product manager you always prioritize tickets against each other and we would like to show that order (a manual order) as default instead of e.g upvotes. That would make it much clearer for our end customers what we think is important.
