Sorting rework

Requests & Insights

Users want two sorting directions (ascending and descending) for all options.

For example, if the sorting option is ‘Upvotes’ there should be two options:

  1. Descending: where it shows the most upvoted posts first

  2. Ascending: where it shows the least upvoted posts first.

There should also be more status sorting options (some them renamed for clarity):

  • Upvotes

  • Upvoter revenue

  • Trending

  • Importance (avg. of Usage Frequency, Urgency, and Importance)

  • Status

  • Status updated date

  • Posted date

  • Due date

  • Manual

Also for roadmaps, it’s quite critical to have a manual sorting option. And ‘Pending’ should be a filter, not a sorting option.

This type of sorting would open up so many new ways to slice and dice feedback. Many users have asked for ways to sort ‘oldest posts first’ for example, but can’t with the current system.

    Hey everyone!

    We've reworked sorting in the dashboard as part of Feedback 2.0!

    You can now sort Requests in both directions by Requesters, Revenue, Impact, Value/Effort, dates, and more. Roadmaps also support Manual ordering, so you can drag cards into your preferred order.

    Open Display options → Ordering to choose a field, then click the arrow to switch direction. For example, show your oldest Requests first or filter to Completed and sort by Status updated date.

    Hey, giving a quick update on sorting posts by oldest first.

    This is actually already available (although not from the UI). You can add ?sortBy=date:asc to the end of the url to sort by oldest posts first. This works for the moderation and other post views.

    We're looking to add this functionality to the UI soon as well.

    It would be super useful if we could have another option here to sort by ‘oldest’.

    In Jira for instance, the buttons are dual-purpose and an arrow for asc or desc appears while hovering it.

    We need this as well. The power of a comment is significantly less than a new Post when the feature request just stays at the back of the list when its commented on. There should be some form of sorting/view of the list where a comment brings it to the top of the list.

    We are currently using the roadmap as a way to replace Jira as its more in-tune with what users what for our product. As a result of this we are constantly revisiting the roadmap on a day to day basis with our sprint planning also being held across the board.

    What i am struggling with is that - there is no way to sort the recently completed task or even easily see which ones were marked completed in the weekly sprint to help me keep track of releases + write a changelog efficiently.

    Ability to Sort Posts by Calculated Priority Score

    I would like the ability to sort posts based on the calculated priority score, which is derived from the frequency, urgency, and importance questions asked when a post is created.

    This score is already shown in the post list, and being able to order posts by it would be a great way to prioritize and manage feedback, allowing me to see the highest priority posts first.

    Sort live portal posts by Status by default

    Current sorting options are “Top”, “Recent”, or “Trending”. It would be nice if there were an option to sort by “Status”, or more precisely, have “In Progress” items at the top, followed by “Planned”, followed by “In Review”.

    This serves multiple purposes:

    1. It allows me, as a business to the user, to convey an immediate sense of “we’re hard at work on these items” rather than “here’s a list of all the highly voted ‘not yet in progress’ things that we haven’t started yet”

    2. It allows users to immediately see what were priorities, and what they can expect soon.

    Currently the only way to achieve this, to my knowledge, would be to manually “pin” posts when they are moved to In Progress, and unpin them when they are Completed.

    It should be possible to sort ideas/feedback by recently updated

    My customers would like get an easy way to sort the ideas/feedback by recently updated.

    We’re getting plenty of feedback, and they’re having a hard time to keep up with what has been commented on and not.

    Really need a way to just see all here.

    Boards are always filtered, i want my team to have a view off all posts (rn they can't see completed posts or rejected posts without having to filter for these specifics)

    We really need the sorting feature. We are a B2B company and we need to look at the posts that a company submitted and sort them in order of priority. So that we can review that priority together with that company.

    We want that company to be able to change that priority or allow us to change the priority for them.
