Outbound

While you can already create new messages individually to your users, there’s currently no way to run outbound messages and notifications to large user groups.

It would be useful to be able to quickly inform users about outages, urgent updates, etc.

    Hey everyone!

    Outbound is here - you can now onboard, educate, and notify your customers with in-context, automated messages that cut support volume and keep customers happy.

    Now you can reach large groups of users proactively, not one at a time, to flag outages, share urgent updates, and guide people in the moment.

    3 of the new message types:

    • Chat - start a proactive Messenger conversation with a targeted audience, with replies that land in your Inbox

    • Banner - keep a system-wide notice visible for outages, maintenance, and urgent updates

    • Email - reach users in their inbox when a message shouldn't wait for their next session

    Target by user attributes and page, schedule when messages send, and translate them into multiple languages, all from one dashboard.

    Surveys and Changelogs (now Updates) are also part of Outbound, so all your proactive messaging lives in one place!

    Batch/Broadcast Emails for User Re-engagement

    I want to be able to send batch/broadcast emails to specific segments of users (e.g. inactive users on a free tier) to re-engage them and bring them back to the app. Currently, workflows only support chat-based inactivity triggers.

    General In-App Messaging & Broadcasts

    I want to be able to send general in-app notifications or broadcast messages to my customers that are not related to feedback or the roadmap. This would be used for general announcements, engagement, or updates that don't fit into the changelog or feedback categories.

    Mass email all contacts / Broadcast tool

    I want to be able to send a mass email to all my contacts for general announcements or marketing, not just for changelogs or surveys. This is important for keeping all users informed about non-product updates.

    Announcement Survey - Informational Toast

    Can you add just a “Announcement” survey that would not require any interaction from the customer except to just dismiss it?

    This would be great for announcing new features or alerts for scheduled updates.

    Similar how toasts work, just an informational popup at the corner that users can dismiss.

    Allow sending outbound emails to user segments

    This feature would enable sending automated general outbound emails directly to user segments, beyond just changelog notifications or survey targeting.

    This would specifically support engaging users during onboarding and in the first 90 days for product engagement, not general email marketing.
