Option to configure links to open in same window / new tab / new window

General

There should be a setting with link settings to control whether a link opens in a new tab or the same one.

This setting should be available across Featurebase’s editors, including the help center and changelogs.

    You can now control link opening behavior for the Help Center.

    You can add a general setting from Settings → Help Center → General:

    Or configure it for help center links individually:

    Mentioned articles now also open in the same tab by default.

      This behavior would be great in Changelog widget when we link to some section or feature within our web app.

    Option to configure link behavior (same window / new tab / new window), including Portal navigation

    It should be possible to configure how links open throughout the platform - specifically whether they open in:

    • the same window, or

    • a new tab

    This option should be available in link settings for all modules or globally:

    • Changelogs

    • Portal navigation (e.g., when a user opens the Help Center from the portal nav)

    Embedded Help Center internal links open in new tab

    I am experiencing an issue where internal links created using the "@" mention feature within an embedded Help Center article open in a new browser tab and direct users to the Featurebase domain, instead of updating the URL within the embedded view on our website.

    Allow opening Help Center in the same tab

    Clicking on Help Center in the main nav opens a new tab. This behavior should be settable by admin.

    Option to select if links in help articles open in the same or new tab

    Often you want to link from one help center article to another, but URLs that you link ALWAYS opens in a new window.

    Result, if I read 5 articles, a group of articles, I will have 5 tabs open in my web browser - and therefore can not even go back to the last article.

    Not very user friendly. It would be nice if you’re able to select if you want to open an URL in a new window or stay in the same window/tab.

    Option to open links in a new tab in Help Center content

    It’s not a good experience to send people away from your site so, users want to open all:

    • internal links in the same tab

    • external links in a new tab

    Ideally, you could choose with each link where they open up:

    Also very important to add the 'Open in new tab' option for Help Center nav items
