Source Markdown Files from Git Repositories

It would be nice if I could source markdown files (readmes), ideally with configurable file patterns from a variety of git (github, gitlab) repositories. There is a use case where we would like to have a docs page that automatically sources documentation from a variety of repositories and makes that knowledge searchable / actionable across all the repos.
