Overview

Set up your Feedback Portal to give customers a place to submit and discuss Requests. Its collection settings control the feedback page; shared Customer Portal settings control branding, navigation, domains, and access.

1

Enable your Feedback Portal

  1. Go to Settings → Requests → Collection → All channels

  2. Find Feedback Portal and click 'Enable' if it is turned off

  3. Open the Feedback Portal tab

Use 'Visit Feedback Portal' to open the customer-facing page. The tab groups its settings into four expandable sections: Layout, Wording, Participation, and Privacy.

2

Set up the feedback page

Choose categories and default sorting

Create categories for the types of feedback you want to collect, such as feature Requests and bug reports. Review each category's access and Request visibility before customers start using it.

In Feedback Portal → Layout, use 'Default sorting' to choose 'Top', 'Recent', or 'Trending'. This sets the starting order customers see.

The Layout section also controls the leaderboard and whether completed and canceled Requests appear in the default view. Showing and hiding Request details covers those display choices.

Set the welcome text and submission button

  1. Open Feedback Portal → Wording

  2. Edit 'Welcome title', 'Welcome message', and 'Request button'

  3. Click outside the field to save your change

Use the welcome message to explain what feedback customers should share.

Tip: For a category that needs different instructions, set its own welcome text in the category's Portal tab. If you support more than one language, customize the wording for each language.

Choose how customers participate

Open Feedback Portal → Participation to configure guest actions, downvoting, and Request and comment approval. These choices determine what customers can submit and when it becomes visible to others.

3

Connect shared portal settings

Configure these once in their shared settings:

4

Share your Feedback Portal

Open 'Visit Feedback Portal' and copy the URL. Add it to a feedback link in your product, website, or customer emails, or embed the portal in a page of your product.

Tip: Test the page as a customer before sharing it widely, especially if you restrict access or require approval.

FAQs

Use a separate browser session so your teammate access does not affect the result.

  • Signed-out visitor: Check whether the portal opens and whether submission, voting, and commenting require sign-in

  • Signed-in customer: Confirm the customer can find a category, submit feedback, and interact with an existing Request

  • Customer with restricted access: Check which categories and Requests the customer can see, including when opening a direct link

Also check your wording, sorting, and Request details. If approval is enabled, review the submission from your team account before checking its public appearance.

Open Settings → Requests → Collection → Feedback Portal, find Disable channel, and click 'Disable'. Confirm the change.

Disabling the Feedback Portal also turns off its hosted Roadmaps and embedded portal. The Feedback widget is a separate collection channel.

Your Requests, categories, and settings are kept. You can enable the portal again from All channels. To remove a navigation item while keeping the page available, use Customer Portal navigation instead.
